History

The 123GT was the sports version of the Amazon, with a more powerful engine, 4-speed gearbox with overdrive and accessories such as auxiliary driving lamps and rev counter. There were two versions of it, a 1.8-litre model, which was replaced by the 2-litre model when this was introduced across the range. From August 1966 - July 1968, the 123GT was given the same 1.8-litre engine as the P1800, with a 10:1 compression ratio, sports cam and twin SU HS6 carbs, and outputting 96bhp at 5,600rpm.
