Intermittent electrical problems still... intermittent
Tags: air-conditioning daily-driver electrics rust windows
Spent a few hours down at my lock-up polishing my Amazon's carbs, and took the opportunity to have a look at the van's electics, particularly the driver's side window, which keeps getting stuck (in the down position, obviously).
Once the panel was off and I could access the wiring, the window behaved faultlessly of course. My suspecion however that it might be the internal contacts in the motor, as it seems to stick at a similar position each time.
What I did see however, was quite a bit of rust, both behind the panel and underneath the door. Put some rust-eater on it to stabilize it, but I fear the bottom area at least will need to have a repair section welded in - never easy on doors.
Finally, on the subject of getting nowhere, the immediate problem of the fan/aircon failure was a blown fuse. I was hoping that it was just one of those things. No such luck. Within 15 second of putting a new fuse in, it blew again.
