Engine rebuild: this valve will need replacing

Tags: engine rebuild valves

Just had time this evening to take out the last couple of valves of the 350's heads. I used an oversize G-cramp to push the one of the valves down, thus releasing the bit of broken piston that was stuck between it and the seat.

The second valve was more tricky, and it seemed to be stuck in place with a couple of mm gap between it and the seat. When I finally got it off, it as easy to see why, as the photo shows. Bent, or what?

The valve guides all seem in good condition (even on this one), though the seats for this one seem a little damaged, and will probably have to be re-cut.
