Engine rebuild: slow progress

Tags: cleaning crankshaft engine rebuild

Spent a day on various car bits, including the engine (the first time I'd touched it for a month or more).

Basically I'm waiting for the crankshaft/reciprocating assembly to be balanced, and it's still at the machine shop. I can't complain too much, because they're giving me a very good price on it, on the basis that I wasn't in a big rush.

In the meantime, I prepping the other parts, and today finally got the oil gallery plugs out (mainly thanks to Lance at Romance of Rust, where I'm building it, and a bit of heat to loosen them), and cleaned up a whole a bundle of bolts and degreased the oil-pan.

Not the most glamorous job, but somehow strangely satisfying.
