Rebuild update: Firing up the engine

Tags: engine rebuild rocker-arms

After searching high and low for set of good rocker arms for the B18 in my Amazon (the existing ones had lost their hardened face), I finally found a set at ClassicVolvo.com, and at a very reasonable price too.

Tht was all the engine was waiting for, so just over a week ago, I headed down to Romance of Rust to see the old thing fired up for the first time in something like 9 months.

As you can see from the video,it was the briefest of runs -- just enough to check everything was running nice and cleanly, but not long enough to get the rocker cover full of oil, as it was only held on by my fingers!

Thankfully, everything went well. Couple of slight fuel leaks, but nothing that can't be easily sorted. More importantly the oil looked like it was flowing nicely, and the the were no nasty noises.
