Slow progress
Not got a lot done car-wise recently, and as the guilt's been building up it's made it more difficult to get round to doing the jobs that needed doing, and so I've only been down to the Camaro's lock-up a handful times in the past couple of months or so.
So not much progress to report. I changed the oil in the diff, and painted the rusty diff cover while I was at it (gasket was from American Car Parts). Also managed to get the power steering pulley connected up (had struggled to get it aligned properly, but I think it's OK now).
Nearly there on the clutch linkage too. I'd struggled getting the linkage plate reattached back to the frame -- somehow the bolts had gone walkabout, and I couldn't get any bolts to easily fit. However, a quick question posted over at Camaros.net provided the answer and helped confirm which bolts I needed (turned out the threads were a bit stiff and just needed a bit of welly). Now just need to get the return spring connected up (couldn't find where it attached to the frame, but hopeful next time).
Finally, got around to investigating the driver's side front wing, which had rusted at the bottom, with the result that the outer skin had separate from the inner skin. Actually looks like it's happened before and had been patched up with the help of some filler. I somehow doubt my welding skills are up to repairing it, but also not sure whether I'll be able to get a replacement easily (and affordably) over here in the UK, so I may just have a go.
