Beneath the spoiler...

Tags: bodywork rust welding

So a month or so ago, I decided to take the spoiler off the rear of the Camaro -- partly because it was a really nasty homemade one that never looked right, and partly because I was thought the boot would be a good project for me to do at the evening class where I've been learning to weld, given there were a few rusty edges.

What's that one about lawyers shouldn't ask questions they don't know the answers to? Well, here's one for us, don't start on bodywork unless you know what state it's really in.

The boot was in a pretty bad way (and not massively improved by my welding, so far), but when I took the small bits of spoiler of the rest of the rear that's when I could see that it had already been patched before, with some painted scrap metal apparently), and that there was A LOT more work to do.
