It’s been a long, cold and snowy winter here in Michigan. It was April before the last of the snow melted, so the Tiger had a long hibernation. There was a brief spell of mild weather towards the end of January when I was able to go for a quick run, but apart from that - no fun. I did make a fine purchase on Ebay - a set of ’60s LAT-58 Tiger Tails, complete with application instructions. Think I might get a repro set made rather than risk sticking these around the rear of the car. Not sure the ...read more

After much insurance wrangling, and saving up, the arches and sills were repaired and resprayed last winter by the excellent Stoney Creek Collision in Ypsilanti, Michigan. I used new panels from Victoria British on the arches. The car now looks like nothing had ever happened to it - they even matched the elderly, slightly faded forest ...read more

Well, after a year of continually topping up the reservoir with hydraulic fluid, and puddles on the garage floor, I got round to fitting a new slave cylinder. Sourced from the Excellent Victoria British here in the US (they are the best resource for Sunbeam bits here, in my experience), I got it fitted and topped up. Worked fine for a few weeks, but then noticed the clutch pedal getting spongey, and disappearing fluid from the reservoir. After a bit of head scratching, I figured I’d bleed the system again, and hey presto, it worked! Great to have it back ...read more
