Under construction...a replica of a 1981 343 GLS R-Sport.

Essentially, it's a swap for 360 running gear, together with a 360's 2.0 8v engine fed by Solex ADDHE 40s (like Weber DCOEs or Delloro DHLAs). These were factory-spec cars, but never sold in the UK.

A bit of history / context

I'd been looking for a "mk1" 343 for quite some time when this car came along. The plan is to transplant the drivetrain displaced from my 360 Turbo Intercooler project into this car, to create a replica of a car never sold in the UK - a 1981 343 GLS R-Sport. 1981 was the first year you could get a 2.0 300 series car, and as the "mk2" came out in 1982, it was the only year a "mk1" was available with a 2.0 engine.
