1952 Studebaker Champion. Went to see this car as I thought it was a Golden Hawk (no internet or digital cameras in those days), so when I saw the car it wasn't what I was expecting.
But the guy did have a mini bar in his lounge with a thatched roof...how could I not buy the car!
It broke down as soon as I left the guys house and the RAC towed me back to London all the way from Rochdale...the longest tow I've ever had.
Couldn't sell it before I went off traveling, so i left it in the street for a year, when I cae back 12 months later, the car was still there but the council had resurfaced the road around the car!
Sold it to a friend who made it into a Ratrod (I think).
