1964 Volvo Amazon. This white 4 door was my second car, and my first really car with any power. (My first car being a Triumph Herald with no power).

I bought it for £200 from friends of friends who loved it, had holidays in the car and even used it as their wedding car, they were sad to see it go. I bought it knowing nothing about Amazons let alone Volvo's. It was a pretty car, I could afford it and I needed something to learn to drive in...

The photos don't do it justice as it looks very tatty, but it was a good straight honest car that had it's faults. I think I tried to patch a few of the holes up and made it look a lot worse than it really was as I had no idea about cars back then.
Once I passed my test you couldn't stop me driving it, I went everywhere in that car. After a few year of driving it around and it looking a little tatty I took an evening class in car mechanics and car restoration. That's when I made the terrible decision to take to strip the and try and restore.

With the engine, interior and most of the trim out of the car, I left it parked on the street (with a cover over it) over the Christmas holidays. When I went back a few days in the New Year the car was gone! I reported it to to the Police, but nothing happened. So all I had left were the interior, bonnet, engine and some trim which I sold on or threw away. I still have the number plate and documents for it...but no car. Sad end to a great little car...
