Good suppliers, great suppliers... and the other sort

Rebuilding the Amazon has meant dealing with a lot of suppliers, many of whom I'm not familiar with. I've mentioned quite a few in the various posts -- Amazon Cars and IPD have been the main specialist parts suppliers, and they've both been pretty good, which has been handy with all the bits I've had to get.
I've also had some good experience with smaller suppliers -- in particular our supplier of stainless steel fasteners, Aidpac (http://www.stainlessman.co.uk), who we sent a bag of grubby old nuts, bolts and washers to match in stainless. Less than two weeks later, we got a jiffy bag with everything we wanted, including the self-tapping bolts for the inner wings. And at a pretty good price. What a star!
At the other end of the spectrum, getting the lights for the rear number plate, which is being relocated and recessed in the bumper, has been a nightmare. After a bit of web trawling I finally remembered I'd seen something suitable on a Triumph, and headed over to Holden(http://www.holden.co.uk), where I put in an order on their website.
First problem was the email acknowledgment, which was unclear whether the item was in stock (it didn't mention it was sold on their website), or when it would be sent.
OK, not great, but fired off an email straight away, querying it. No answer. 3/4 days later sent another one. Still no response. Then I called them and left a message asking them to call me back or respond to my emails. Still no answer.
Finally, 2 weeks after I placed the order and sent the first email query, I phoned again and this time got through. Where are the lights? Not in stock. When are they going to be in stock. Don't know. The supplier normally sends them about now. So you don't know when you're going to get them, or even if they've been sent by your supplier? Yes.
Any reason you haven't responded to my emails and phone message. We've been short staffed.
Jump to end of story. Called up Moss (http://www.moss-europe.co.uk), they had them in stock, and I picked them up the next day.
