I thought I'd give the engine bay a well needed steam clean...well I guess I should have left things alone, as it coughed and spluttered to life after the hose down but it wasn't to last.
It turns out the electronic ignition was on the way out, and that much water lilled it dead.
So with it off the road for a few days I set upon detailing as best I could the engine bay. Attached are a few photos of the end result.

We decided to remove all the unwanted wiring that seemed to be in the car, including the alarm which wasn't connected to anything.

Hopefully this will solve the problem of a power drain if left standing for a few days.
