I called to see Brian (and my Amazon) in Suffolk this afternoon. The postmortem has uncovered a heavily diseased body and a number of broken limbs essential to life on the open road. Several thousand pounds worth of remedial work would be required, simply to obtain a statutory bill of health, and a substantial amount of cosmetic surgery would need to be done if there was a desire to be seen in public during daylight hours. After much deliberation, I have finally taken the plunge and committed my beloved Amazon to the process of a complete restoration.

I have engaged Volvo specialist Brian Gue of Amazonia in Suffolk to tackle the bulk of the work.

He collected the car on Sunday morning and I will be calling to see him in a couple of weeks time to assess the damage and set a plan for the project.
