YouTube Video :: 1957 Ford Ranchero

First year of this car/truck hybrid. These types of vehicles are still very popular in Australia and New Zealand. There's talk of bringing them back here. The vehicle is basically a car with the front end essentially a car and the back devoted to a load bed. Both Ford and Chevy made a ton of these. This one sports color coordinated upholstery and A/C. Critics might point out that it may not have the ruggedness and load carrying capacity of a real truck. But then, back in the day, it was luxurious compared to the average truck. Some might say it isn't necessary to bring it back today, because the average truck has a very car-like interior! You decide!
