Okay so I'm looking to buy a Lancia Stratos, an original will cost $100,000+ but I've heard that a kit will cost under $25,000. Does anyone know where I can buy one of these kit cars?

Just looking for some names and makes of the more affordable rally cars out there. Not the Lancia Stratos that are retailing for $500,000 USD. I was looking at a Lancia Fulvia Coupe, but are there any other good classic rally cars? I guess "good" is a vague term but: reasonably priced, good handling, not underpowered etc. Also, are there any websites with lists or recommendations?

Fiat 131 Abarth, Ford Escort Mk2 RS2000, Austin Mini Cooper S, Lancia Delta Integrale, Audi 100 Quattro, Peugeot 205... All can be had at a fairly reasonable price and all of them have a strong rally pedigree.

Yes there's several companies that make stratos kit cars. If you live in the UK try superstratos.com or if you live in the US just do a google search.

I'd love to drive the Stratos, it's more more interesting and rare. I sat in one many years ago and it's all a bit weird, the seat and pedals didn't line up like a bad left hand drive conversion but the car WAS left hand drive.lol Quite a few Europa around still, nice but i never found it excited me . In the long run, they'd probably both send you to an early grave with servicing costs because of shocking reliability.
